I've been making bottle lamps for quite a while, however, I was using glass drill bits to drill a hole in the bottom to a lot for a corded light base. I stumbled upon these bottle toppers and I've been completely impressed! The lamp looks great on my bar. Not only does it add ambiance to the room with a subtle glow, but is bright enough to be used a s reading or night light. The touchable dimming function is smooth and intuitive. The last reasonable time, but I tend to forget it on and usually dies after 6-8 hours. It's rechargeable and takes about 4 hours to charge so while a little annoying, offers more versatility in the places I can set the lamp. I like these lampshade bottle toppers. They're fun and easy to install and add much more versatility to my arts and crafts.

Personally, I thought the lamp was too small for a wine bottle; the bottle was too tall. Then, I found shorter bottles at our local thrift store, and I think it looks better.

This is such a fun idea. You can make the base whatever kind of liquor bottle you have to fit your party theme or décor, whiskey bottle for a western theme, wine bottle for a wine tasting or Margarita bottle for Cinco de Mayo. They don’t give off enough light to light a room but they sure create a nice ambiance in a dim area. The colors cycle through with just a tap of your finger. Great little party item or gift.
